Amber Lounge is the most popular Monaco Grand Prix party. Meet the resident DJ

Many people see it as their dream job. You travel the globe playing pulsating music for celebrities, sports stars, and royalty. This is the life of DJ Micky, an international man of music. He is the man behind the turntables at Amber Lounge’s Monaco Grand Prix after party. His job takes him all over F1 circuit, from Monaco to Singapore’s famous night race, and then on to Abu Dhabi, where he will be racing in the season-ending race. This Frenchman is our lucky guest.

How did you become the Amber Lounge’s resident DJ Micky?

Sonia Irvine, founder of Amber Lounge and sister to Eddie the Formula 1 driver, was a friend I met at one of my gigs. She was impressed by my playing and asked me if I would like to join her team. Although it was over ten year ago, it still feels like yesterday. It was a career highlight for me. I was thrilled!

Where else can you DJ Micky?

Along with Amber Lounge, and other international gigs I’m the resident DJ Micky at InterContinental Carlton Hotel Cannes. Although the concept is completely different to what I do at Amber Lounge, it is still fascinating. This magical and amazing venue is a blessing for me.

What makes Amber Lounge at Grand Prix so different from other gigs?

Amber Lounge is truly unique. The destinations are diverse and the guests list is some of the best on the planet. It is a pressure cooker for me, as I have to deal with celebrities, royalty, entrepreneurs, athletes, and Formula 1 drivers and their teams. An error is not an option!

    • We would love to hear about your experience at Amber Lounge.
    • It’s luxurious, relaxing, and adrenaline-pumping all at once.

Friday night’s U*NITE fashion event was as spectacular and successful as ever for Sir Jackie Stewart’s Race Against Dementia charity. It’s always exciting to see Formula 1’s stars parade down the runway during the Monaco Grand Prix thirdparty. It is obvious that the drivers enjoy it and are very good at it. It’s a stunning setting, with the Larvotto waterfront and surrounded by luxury Monaco properties.

This year’s performers, including Sigala, an international DJ Micky/producer, and his MC were amazing. The drink party kicked off Friday night, and went on through Saturday. Justin Jesso then performed his hit “Stargazing”, which he co-produced on Saturday and Sunday with Kygo. It was a memorable and spectacular weekend that marked the 15th anniversary of Amber Lounge.

    • Which were your most memorable moments in Amber Lounge?
    • There have been many! There have been so many!
    • Which is your signature style?

My number one goal is to ensure that the public has fun and enjoys listening to quality music in any genre. It could be R&B or House, Electro, Latino or Pop Rock. Respect your audience and adapt to it. As long as the production is quality, I like it!
